DIARY ENTRIES OF A NEUROTIC HOUND AND HIS OWNERS

Grandad has managed to sell all his golf clubs disposing of all the odd ones on e-bay recently. Having earlier sold his electric trolley, golf bag and set of irons he is only left with 2 pairs of golf shoes and some gloves. These will probably go on e-bay shortly. There is an old trolley and he has a lot of golf balls but they will be going to Edinburgh for Martin and Mikey. So the era of Grandad golf approaches its end.
As it's half-term this week Grandad is not going to the cinema so he has a bit more time on his hands. So despite a long walk this morning I was off to the beach this afternoon. There was quite a few people about and one or two dogs. To tell you the truth I was very tired from about 4 o clock and could hardly move this evening. Must have done over 5 miles today !!!

Nanna and Grandad saw Revolutionary Road last Monday and said it was very good. Set in 1950's America and worth 8/10. Grandad saw Che (Part 1) on Wednesday. The story of Che Guevara the Cuban revolutionary. Again worth 8/10. He's now waiting for Part 2. Grandad then saw the updated Friday the 13th (guess what it was Friday 13th February) a real "slasher" movie right up his street. He gives it 7/10. Not everyone's cup of tea !!!
The snow has almost disappeared just bits here and there but it has been a dodgy week and we hope there won't be any more. When it melts it just leaves a big mess and I can't get in the fields for they are just mud. Roll on spring.
Hello folks yes its me your favourite doggy again. Thought we'd got rid of the white stuff but it returned with a vengeance on Thursday. First Grandad had gone to York on what was forecast to be a reasonable day but it started snowing late morning...........and didn't stop. He cut short his visit and only just made it up Garrowby Hill on the way back having met an articulated lorry reversing down the hill which was closed almost immediately afterwards. Grandad did make it home but Katy and Paul ran into serious problems. ALL the routes into Driffield were blocked. Cut off you might say. Seems funny to me. You can fly to the moon but a bit of snow and.............
A further three films have been seen by Grandad this week. He went to see Valkyrie - the story of a plot to kill Adolf Hitler - with Nana and said it was excellent, certainly 8/10. Underworld : Rise of the Lycans was the second one which is a tale of vampires versus werewolves probably 6/10. The third was "The curious case of Benjamin Button" a story of someone who is born an old man and then grows younger with age. Grandad was slightly disappointed, said it was like Forrest Gump in reverse and rates it no more than 6/10. No doubt it will win lots of awards!!!Another XBox game was played yesterday with Grandad coming back from 4 down to beat Uncle Pand at the first extra hole. The house smells of curry from Grandads efforts cooking red chicken parsee last night.

Yes back to the canal this morning, thats twice in recent days. Very frosty and the ground is very hard but a good walk from Whin Hill back home - about two miles. Came across one man bird watching. He said not much was happening though he had seen a Kestrel, Cormorant and a Heron amongst lots of other smaller birds. Plenty to see if you know what you are looking for. Nanna and Grandad off to see "Valkyrie" this afternoon and they might call in to Pizza Express for dinner. Sounds ok to me.
You wouldn't believe that we are living in the same place as yesterday. It's just gone 9am the snow has disappeared and the sun is shining. The forecast said lots more overnight but there isn't any !!!
