CURRY AND GARDENING QUIZ

Nanna and Grandad met their old friends Kelvin and Geraldine last Saturday to enjoy a few drinks and a curry as they try and do several times a year.
Last Thursday they went to the Garden Centre at Hutton Cranswick for a meal and gardening quiz when they managed to be in the winning team. The prize of a hanging basket has been donated to a raffle for Marie Curie Cancer Care funds.
Talking Marie Curie, Nanna spent a good deal of Sunday manning a stall at a local car boot sale. They managed to raise about £110.00 for their efforts. Grandad and I walked down to see them (and buy a big broom). We then went round to Katy and Paul to enjoy a BBQ on Sunday evening and yes I enjoyed two sausages.

WEEKEND IN EDINBURGH

Just been up to Scotland again to see Karen, Simon, Martin and Mikey. I got a few nice walks and lots of running around chasing balls so much so that I was very quiet and slept all the way home on the back seat of Grandad's car. Next time the boys are coming to visit me in July !!

FILM REVIEWS

Let the Right One In : A Swedish film with English sub titles. Highly rated by The Independent's film critic. Oskar, an overlooked and bullied 12 year old boy, dreams of revenge. He finds love through Eli a peculier girl who turns out to be a vampire. Not everybodys cup of tea but worth 8/10.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past : Watched by default as the scheduled screening of the intended film was cancelled. A bachelor is haunted by the ghosts of his past girlfriends at his younger brother's wedding. Generous at 5/10
Is Anybody There ? : A very funny British film starring Michael Caine set in seaside Eastern England in the 1980's, this is the story of Edward, a ten year old boy growing up in an old folks home run by his parents. Brilliant 10/10

STAR TREK

A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members. A good film in the spirit of the original series. Well worth a watch and a must for any "trekky". Rated 8.5/10

HEALTH CHECK AND VACCINATION

Well hello folks, your old mate Dougal here. I've been for my annual MOT test today - passed with flying colours I must say. Had my booster jab against all those doggy diseases, nails clipped, weighed on the scales (have put on a few extra pounds) and I am now 30kg. Solid muscle though, no excess fat. More worm tablets to take. Have had two long walks today so i'm flat out at the moment, maybe that jab has had its effect !! Anyway i'm good for another year which is good to report.
